Vaseline Lip Therapy with a hint of Marmite

1 Apr

Yes you read correctly, Vaseline has teamed up with Marmite to create a new lip balm! :o

Introducing: New Vaseline Lip Therapy Marmite If you’re bored of your run of the mill flavours such as strawberry, vanilla, or even mango, try the new limited edition Marmite offering for only £1.99.

It would seem like the lip experts at Vaseline and flavour junkies at Marmite have gone crazy, but is there truly a place for such a bizare offering? Afterall stranger things have happened, like that one song with Jedward and Vanilla Ice, need I say more!

More information on the limited edition Vaseline Lip Therapy Marmite (RRP £1.99) will be available from 1st April exclusively on facebook.com/Vaseline.

Lauren Brooking, Vaseline Brand Manager said: “I am delighted to welcome Marmite to the UK’s much loved Vaseline Lip Therapy range. Love it or hate it I think the distinctive partnership will bring many benefits to lip balm users. Try it – you never know, you might just like it?”

David Titman, Marmite Brand Manager said: “We’re honoured to be helping the nation enjoy soft lips and Marmite kisses, however, we take no responsibility for the breakdown of relationships following the purchase of this product.”

Love it or hate it? You decide.

Will you be buying this, let me know in the comments.

>MAC Viva Glam VII: Lady Gaga & Cyndi Lauper (Swatches)

Yes this is yet another post on the new VIVA GLAM lipsticks recently launched by MAC.

Every year MAC releases a new VIVA GLAM lipstick with 100% of the proceeds going towards their MAC AIDS fund.

Established in 1994 to support men, women and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS globally, VIVA GLAM I, II, III, IV, V and VI, were launched as continuous shades and have achieved tremendous success over the years.

Spring 2010 sees two new VIVA GLAM shades introduced as limited editions that will be available for 12 months.

VIVA GLAM Cyndi – Light reddish coral (Lustre)

VIVA GLAM Gaga – Light blue pink (Lustre)
Please note that in person Gaga is a subtle pink and not so bright as the photo suggests.

If you ask me, Cyndi is the more “wearable” out of the two and also my favourite!

I think out of the two this (Cyndi that is) is the most flattering on all skintones. Unfortunately it’s been overshadowed by Gaga (which is now sold out online).

For WOC who don’t know how to “rock” Gaga or feel like they have to jump through hoops just to make it work, here’s a tip for you; make sure your lips are well moisturised and apply the lipstick lightly, in the photo’s above I only applied two swipes (layers) as I found this to be the most flattering.

Review: Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish in Chocolate Kiss

Product: 4 out of 5
Packaging: 3 out of 5
Quality: 4 out of 5
Overall: 3.5 out of 5

Would I buy again? Yes
Price: £3.91

The Good: This is a very moisturising lip conditioner with SPF15 and you can definately feel the difference on your lips. It can be used by itself or layered over a lipstick of your choice, and has a nice gloss-like finish without the sticky-ness (“,).

A great product that you can throw in your bag without a seconds thought, and use to transform you from plain Jane! Lol

The Bad: If you are OCD about using your fingers with lip products that come in pots, then this may not be the product for you, although you can use a lip brush with it. The texture is a lot softer than I expected and you can sometimes pick up more product than you intend.

Overall: I feel bad because if I’m honest there is nothing offensive about this product! – What I mean by that is, normally I’ll either really love a product or really dislike it! But with this, it’s just meh ok! – Granted it’s received rave reviews, and rightly so, but for me, like I said it’s just ok!

The thing is, it’s definately a product that I can see myself repurchasing over and over, because it’s a product I can’t fault! It has great pigmentation and you can either apply a sheer coat, or build it up for more coverage! But it’s nothing new or ground breaking nor something I would say I need in my collection! :s

Compared to similar products on the market, such as MAC’s Tinted Lip Conditioner, I’d say you’d be better off picking up the pout polish, as they are pretty much the same product, but at a fraction of the price!

With the pout polish you can’t go wrong, it has a lovely scent and is affordable. It would be long lasting if it didn’t taste so good! It’s moisturising to the lips; containing shea butter, almond oil, jojoba oil and avocado oil and to top it off it has SPF15! An all round solid product that ticks many a box!

Available in 4 different shades;
- Chocolate Kiss
- Electro Peach
- Pink Cadillac
- Perfect Plum
